Premium Roofing and Waterproofing was originally introduced to SureCoat Systems when The SureCoat Roof System was specified for the roofing scope of work for The Harrison Hotel renovation in Oakland, California. NCR Construction had won the contract for the building renovations project of the Harrison Hotel located at: 1415 Harrison Street in Oakland, California. Through them, Premium Roofing and Waterproofing was awarded the roofing portion of the project and were the hands-on team that completed The SureCoat Roof System from start to finish.

The Harrison Hotel’s flat roof presented the typical problems of commercial and industrial flat roofing; seams, ponds and leaks. The hotel being an occupied space of 7-stories and 81-units, didn’t want to go down Avenue Tear-off. In addition to the other work performed on their building, the Harrison Hotel wanted an Energy Efficient material for their roof that would last, had outstanding reflectivity and thermal emissivity, and would stop their low-slope roof leak issues. Their SureCoat roof now has a 10 year renewable warranty.

Diego Ambriz of Premium Roofing and Waterproofing says “It was love at first sight”. He mentions in his interview with SureCoat Systems’ that he was honestly skeptical at first because of the specification for coating on a flat roof surface. “Based on past experience with coatings, they don’t hold up in ponding areas well.” “But,” He went on to say “My experience with SureCoat Systems has been great. The material was on time, it pumped through my equipment without any problems, and I had no issues getting my warranty. In fact I was just doing a check up on another SureCoat project of ours where we had done some repairs and almost a year later now, the coating in the ponding areas looks just like it did right after I applied it!”
